How to delete your Mira Health account

You can delete your Mira Health account and the health information in it at any time, from inside the app. You do not need to contact us first, and you do not need to give a reason.

Delete it yourself, in the app

  1. Sign in to your Mira Health account.
  2. Open Settings from the sidebar — on a phone, from the menu in the header.
  3. Scroll to Delete your account at the bottom of the page.
  4. Select Delete account.
  5. Type your email address to confirm, then select Delete permanently.

Your account is removed straight away and you are signed out. There is no waiting period, no recovery window, and no way for us to undo it — so please be sure before you confirm.

If you cannot sign in

Email info@mirahealth.org from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will verify that the request came from the account holder and delete the account within 30 days. If we cannot verify it, we will tell you why rather than act on it — the same protection that stops someone else deleting your account.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

  • your name, email address, phone number, and sign-in credentials
  • your health profile — sex, date of birth, age, race, height, weight, and location
  • your surveys, answers, and care recommendations
  • your medications, dose schedules, reminders, adherence history, and any photographs of medication labels
  • your conversations with the in-app assistant, and everything it had remembered about you
  • your notification history and delivery settings
  • your friend connections, friend invitations, and family or household connections
  • household profiles you created that no other member of your household can reach

If you belong to a household with other members, profiles you set up for other people or pets stay with the household and pass to another member — deleting your account does not delete theirs. If you were the only member, the household is deleted with your account.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Backups. Copies of your information can persist in routine encrypted backups for up to 90 days after deletion, after which they age out. We do not restore deleted accounts from backups.
  • Records we are required to keep. We may retain a limited record of the deletion itself, and anything the law requires us to keep or that we need to resolve a dispute or enforce our agreements. Anything kept for those reasons stays subject to our Privacy Policy.
  • Information that is no longer about you. Aggregate and de-identified statistics that cannot be linked back to you are not deleted.
  • Messages already sent. Emails and text messages already delivered to you live in your own inbox and are outside our control.

If your organization provides Mira Health to you, deleting your account removes you from it. Your organization keeps only aggregate reporting, which never identifies individual members.

Deleting some things instead of everything

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove information:

  • delete individual assistant conversations from the chat screen
  • delete a medication to remove its schedule, reminders, and label photograph
  • disconnect from a friend or a household member to stop sharing with them
  • turn off notifications, or reply STOP to any text message
